Review : Booktalkopedia
Divorced is the memoir that narrates the author’s dream wedding turned “dramady” ( termed by Mallory herself.) Filled with humor, drama, tragedy and most of all a journey toward finding a way to one’s true self after challenges and struggles.
Starting from the beginning, Mallory narrates that she was on one of world’s largest cruise ship to marry the man of her dreams in an enchanting beautiful and dreamy wedding presence. In the beginning everything was fine, the proposal and adventure were beautiful. But things began to change and deep down she knew this.
However, the tides turn when chaotic events swooshed in, drunk fights with random men, the brewing tensions between families and finally her would-be husband getting booted off the cruise ship as well as involvement of police during disorderly conduct.
This memoir was truly a rollercoaster ride of emotions, one minute I felt sad with how the author’s dream wedding was spoilt and the next minute she narrates something that made me laugh hard. It’s true, this ensued a lot of drama and hilarity but she has revealed the importance of self-love and healing. Accepting that you are worthy of all the good.
I had a great time reading this. I’d recommend this book for weekend read when you are ready to relax and let yourself learn more about positivity and self-healing.
