Tips and Tricks for Camping with Kids

Nothing is better than making beautiful memories in the great outdoors with friends and family. Spending quality time having fun together, away from screens and our devices. I absolutely love camping and being out in nature!

I’ve listed a few of my tips and tricks below to make your experience a fun and peaceful time:

Whether you’re in a tent, cabin, or camper…BINS are your best friend! You can find items and store them easily which makes organization in small spaces necessary!

Having a bin for your child’s toys is handy for those rainy days or when you need to beat the heat! I have a bin for coloring books, cars, indoor toys, and another bin for nerf guns, baseball gloves…etc. outdoor toys.

Going for nature walks is a fun way to get some exercise while exploring at the same time. Look for hiking trails nearby in your area. There generally are a few nice hiking trails at all campgrounds.

I like to make my meals ahead of time, especially when I’m going to be camping for a big stretch of time. Making casseroles or one pot, one dish meals ahead of time is nice when you don’t have much space to cook in. Always bring food to cook over campfires such as smores, hot dogs, hamburgers etc. Don’t rely on having a campfire to cook over every night just in case of bad stormy or rainy weather!

It’s always good to have backup meals ready to go like my favorite chicken caesar pasta salad!!

I think having land and not ruining it is the most beautiful art that anybody could ever want.

In nature, nothing is perfect and everything is perfect. Trees can be contorted, bent in weird ways, and they’re still beautiful.
